John Doherty is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Butterfly Network. Prior to joining Butterfly, John held key positions at Kaltura (CFO), Magic Leap (CFO/COO), and Interxion (CFO), and built a 30 year-long career across various organizations at Verizon, where he held senior executive positions including multiple CFO roles as well as Senior VP – Corporate Development. His leadership resulted in many achievements, from strategic multibillion-dollar acquisitions and divestitures, corporate restructurings and the delivery of significant share-owner value. John currently also serves on the Board of Directors of Guam-based Pacific Telecom.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stonybrook University and has substantially completed an MBA in finance from Baruch College. He has also participated in the Wharton Executive Education Programs in Finance and Strategic Planning. Over the years, John collected quite a few accolades. The Deal named him The Most Admired Corporate Deal Maker in Telecommunications in 2013, 2014 and 2016. Institutional Investor ranked John as the top IR executive across the telecommunications industry in 2011 and 2012.
